We provide the consultation in the following matters:
POA Indian Registration
Registration: In many cases, a general or specific power of attorney need not be registered. The Indian Registration Act does not make a power of attorney compulsorily register able. However, the Supreme Court has recently ruled that a power of attorney given to sell immovable properties should be registered.
The POA has to be done at the office of the sub-registrar that lies within the jurisdiction of the person giving the power. If the person resides abroad, the POA should be attested by the Indian consulate in that country and should be used within 3 months from the date of its execution.
